Remedy detailed Control Resonant's Assist Mode on September 10, ahead of its September 24 PS5 release. It allows individual combat adjustments without blocking trophies, and can also raise the challenge.

That matters because difficulty is not a single variable. Reading an attack, reacting at the right moment, and managing resources require different skills. A player might enjoy tactical pressure while needing a more forgiving dodge window. Separate controls leave room for that combination.

Developers can take a design question from this: a useful accessibility menu explains the effect of each change and allows experimentation without punishment. A practical review should check whether descriptions are clear, settings are easy to restore, and adjustments remain helpful across different encounters.

We have not tested the system, so we cannot claim it meets every accessibility need. The announcement does provide a concrete launch question: how effectively can the challenge adapt to the person playing? Save this for a comparison with the complete settings menu once the game is available.
