At MWC on March 1, HONOR previewed Robot Phone and its first humanoid robot. The company described the phone as an exploration of embodied AI, motion and spatial awareness. The announcement examined here presents a technology vision, not confirmation of Brazilian retail availability.
For a solo creator, a device that follows a scene is easy to imagine. Its value would depend on practical questions, however: framing, mechanism noise, power consumption and behavior when someone moves out of position. A presentation cannot answer all of those.
Our editorial interest lies where camera, software and physical movement meet. This kind of interface could change how we show a setup or record an object, but claims about finished quality need verifiable demonstrations and clear conditions.
We have not tested Robot Phone and do not treat the concept as a buying recommendation. Before following the hype, separate what was shown, what the company intends to develop and what has actually reached users. Curiosity is welcome; keeping those stages distinct makes the conversation much more interesting than announcing the end of conventional smartphones.
