Lenovo introduced an 8.8-inch Legion Go with SteamOS at CES 2026. The announcement puts the operating system alongside processor and display in the handheld conversation. We are not presenting January's introduction as this week's launch.

For players, the useful question is what happens between powering on and entering a game. Navigation, updates, controls, and compatibility need to work together. A controller-oriented system can be appealing without eliminating the need to verify each important title in your library.

Developers may see PC flexibility as a bonus. It is still worth separating that possibility from the intended routine: working on a small screen, configuring peripherals, and gaming are distinct tasks. None should be promised as seamless without testing.

Our take is to compare platforms around your games and the maintenance effort you accept. We did not verify local stock or run titles on this Legion Go. Check the exact model's specification sheet, since similar names can lead to misleading comparisons. Which matters more in your handheld: freedom to configure it or fewer steps before playing?
