Modern Warfare 4 is official: October, DMZ and current consoles

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is no longer just a rumored title. Activision announced it on May 28 with an October 23, 2026 release date. Confirmed platforms are PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2; PS4 and Xbox One are excluded.

The announcement covers campaign, multiplayer, and DMZ. Those represent different reasons to follow the game: narrative, competition, and extraction. Someone who only plays with a squad should not evaluate the package using the same priorities as someone seeking a weekend campaign.

For PC players, practical questions come before maximum settings: which options improve enemy readability, how responsive are the controls, and how does it run on available hardware? A technology checklist does not replace measurement. Likewise, Switch 2 support alone does not establish visual quality or handheld compromises.

Our take: the title and date are confirmed. The useful next step is checking how each mode actually plays and whether the platform fits your group. Keep the official details handy, and avoid paying for edition benefits you will never use.
