ROG announces a Wi-Fi 8 router: what does that say about ping?
ASUS introduced Rapture GT-BN98 with a gaming focus. The announcement needs context: replacing a router cannot solve every connection problem.

ASUS highlighted the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 at Gamescom on August 25 with Wi-Fi 8 branding and gaming-traffic prioritization. That is the manufacturer's product description; we have not verified certification, performance, or Brazilian availability.
For unstable matches, a generation label does not identify the underlying issue. Household interference, distance, congestion, and the route to the server are different conditions. A router affects only part of that chain, so replacement cannot be promised to fix ping.
A useful first step is recording when the problem happens, on which device, and in which games. Compare an available wired connection with wireless under the same conditions. Different results provide one clue; problems across every game and device point to a different investigation.
Our take is to follow the product through stability tests and actual support rather than selecting the newest label. This is an analysis of an announcement, not a diagnosis of your network. Understanding the failure before adding hardware helps avoid replacing the wrong part.
