September PS Plus: choose a game without growing your backlog

Sony announced September 2026's PlayStation Plus catalog on September 9, including RuneScape: Dragonwilds, WWE 2K26, Ball x Pit, and Date Everything!. General access is scheduled for September 15, with exceptions: Ball x Pit arrives September 22 in the US, UK, and Japan. Check the official list for plan and regional details.

Instead of installing everything, decide what your next session looks like. Are you playing alone for half an hour, sharing a controller, or beginning a longer experience? That question narrows the choices more effectively than automatically selecting the most recognizable name.

Keep subscription access separate from ownership. A catalog listing does not mean permanent availability, or establish that every edition and piece of additional content is included. Check the game's page on your actual account before inviting friends or clearing storage.

We have not tested these additions to produce a ranking. Our take is to use the announced variety to discover something that fits your week without creating more unfinished obligations. Pick one game, spend enough time to understand its proposition, and then plan the next. Which genre is missing from your regular rotation?
