Announced on August 12, Pixel 11 Pro Fold is described by Google as almost 10% lighter and approximately one millimeter thinner than its predecessor. It includes Tensor G6 and 16GB of RAM. These are manufacturer specifications, not our measurements.
On a foldable, weight and thickness affect concrete activities: holding it through a reading session, watching something on public transport or following documentation. The format therefore needs to justify the space it occupies in your pocket and budget.
Our document-based comparison would start with two lists: tasks you would perform with the screen closed and tasks that genuinely require opening it. If nearly everything belongs to the first list, question the benefit of carrying a second experience. If you constantly alternate between documents and communication, the proposition deserves an in-person trial.
We are not concluding that the Fold replaces a tablet or runs games better than a conventional phone. We also lack our own hinge, battery and temperature measurements. The announcement makes a clear portability argument; its value depends on how often the larger screen would solve a real problem for you.
